DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Nursing Professional Development supports multiple UW Medicine entities with varying organizational requirements, workflows, and mandatory education processes. Nursing Professional Development plays a critical role in ensuring UW Medical Center meets regulatory and organizational training requirements through the Learning Management System (LMS). This team supports the development and delivery of mandatory education, including orientation, annual compliance, patient safety, and clinical training for physicians, nurses, and other staff. The team also supports enterprise initiatives by delivering eLearning for major organizational projects, clinical practice changes, and system implementations. Through collaboration with stakeholders across UW Medicine, Nursing Professional Development helps standardize education, maintain regulatory compliance, and advance strategic organizational goals.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Providing technical leadership for clinical learning system
  • Leading business process improvement and system optimization efforts
  • Managing the full lifecycle of eLearning development - from analysis and design through implementation, evaluation, and maintenance
  • Collaborating with clinical and operational stakeholders to ensure learning solutions align with organizational goals and reports to the Manager of Nursing Professional Development

The LMS Administrator serves as a subject matter and technical systems expert for UW Medical Center's clinical learning technologies. The role provides cross-functional support for the LMS and related applications while designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining eLearning solutions that support organizational education and training needs.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Computer Science, Education, or Information Technology, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience
  • 3+ years of experience must include the following:
    • Proficient with eLearning and multi-media authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Captivate, Lectora, Rise, etc.)
    • Experience with eLearning content integration standards with LMS (Cornerstone-Galaxy)
    • Experience with assessing and developing workforce that drive standard use of technology
    • Experience supporting computer applications
    • Experience with configuring of/using LMS or similar web-based applications, for a large group of users
    • Experience gathering user requirements and tracking and monitoring required and optional training
    • Experience with formal IT methodologies including development of formal test scripts, testing, project management, change management, system configuration management, design management, and the establishment and monitoring of best practices
    • Experience with data management and analysis
