Job description

We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to support our Oak Ridge, Tennessee office.
As a Senior Electrical Designer, you will perform a variety of electrical design functions. This includes development of facility models and construction drawings for electrical systems such as plans, one-line diagrams, control diagrams, interconnection diagrams, elevations and details, schedules and bills of materials; and drawings for instrumentation and controls systems such as: system architecture, ladder diagrams, input/output diagrams, and instrument data sheets. This also includes complete design of lighting systems for buildings and outdoor areas. Lighting design includes fixture selection, model calculations which will determine lighting level for normal and emergency lighting situations. Activities could include assistance with cost estimating and equipment summary for bills of materials. The work location for these projects is in Oak Ridge, Tennessee with this position allowing remote work.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in engineering from an accredited certified institution
  • 15 or more years of electrical engineering design experience
  • Construction support experience for Title 3 activities
  • Experience in providing construction support or services during construction is required
  • Citizen of United States
  • Short Circuit Analysis experience
  • Working knowledge of the NEC

Preferred Qualifications:
  • DOE experience desired
  • NQA-1 experience desired
  • Lighting calculation experience
  • Familiarity with 3 Dimensional applications with use of software such as Smartplant or Revit
  • Knowledge of broad range of electrical systems is required, including power system design, substation design, fire alarm design, lighting design, load flow studies, communications design, grounding design and equipment selection
  • Ability to independently produce construction documentation using 2-D and 3-D applications (Smartplant or Revit) is required

Work Location:
This position is remote/hybrid work with a preferred for this position to be worked full-time in Oak Ridge, TN. For people within 50 miles of the Oak Ridge, TN office, a hybrid option requiring a person to be in office for minimum of 50% of the week. For people outside of 50 miles, a remote option with quarterly travel to the Oak Ridge, TN office is available. For hybrid and remote work, you are required to provide and work in a secured location as approved by the company within the United States due to the projects that you will be participating in.
Compensation Details:
$74/hr - $87/hr
