Union Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and culturally competent Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic team. This full-time, remote position allows you to deliver high-quality mental health care to a diverse patient population. Your work schedule will typically run from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some flexibility to accommodate patient needs. • Conduct thorough, culturally sensitive mental health assessments to evaluate patients' unique needs, personal histories, and treatment goals.
• Design and implement tailored therapeutic interventions grounded in evidence-based practices, ensuring they respect the cultural backgrounds of your clients.
• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions, navigating a spectrum of mental health concerns and helping clients build resilience.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and psychologists, to foster comprehensive care strategies that address all facets of patient health.
• Provide crisis intervention support during mental health emergencies, applying your expertise to de-escalate situations and assure patient safety.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and available resources, empowering them in their recovery journey.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems for efficiency.
• Participate actively in case conferences and team meetings, contributing insights and learning from fellow professionals to refine practices continually.
• Engage in ongoing cultural competency training, keeping abreast of the latest research and treatment methodologies that inform our practice.

You will primarily work with a diverse clientele, including individuals from ethnic and cultural minorities, LGBTQ+ communities, and immigrant populations. This role emphasizes an understanding of the unique challenges faced by these groups, empowering you to provide personalized and effective mental health care. You will help foster safe spaces where clients feel heard, respected, and valued, enhancing their engagement in therapy.

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Possession of a current and valid license as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in the state of Kansas.
• A strong foundation in mental health disorders and a demonstrable understanding of culturally responsive therapy methods.
• Experience providing individual and group therapy tailored to diverse populations and varying needs.
• Excellent crisis intervention skills and the ability to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively.
• Superior interpersonal and communication skills, capable of forging strong connections with clients and their families.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficient in relevant computer applications.
• A steadfast commitment to upholding professional ethics and maintaining client confidentiality.
• Ability to collaborate within a team-oriented environment, engaging effectively with a multidisciplinary group of professionals.

• A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical setting, with direct experience in community mental health services.
• Prior experience working with multicultural populations and understanding their unique mental health needs is advantageous.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms, given the remote nature of this position, is a plus.

The annual salary for this position ranges from $70,000 to $100,000 based on experience and qualifications.
