JOB PURPOSE AND IMPACT

The Regional Food Safety Quality and Regulatory POD Lead (Open to Remote) is a critical member of the business and the leadership team, responsible to provide food safety, quality and regulatory leadership for a group of plants in a sub region or hub. In this role, you will partner with stakeholders across country and with regional colleagues to create alignment on strategy and processes and drive continuous improvement across the region and participate with corporate leadership to drive continuous improvement of corporate policies and procedures. 

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience 
  • Experience in the areas of food safety, quality assurance and regulatory affairs
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience
  • Minimum of two years of direct supervisory experience inlcuding performance management
  • Travel up to 25%
  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with any product, food, feed and health, safety and quality practices and systems
  • Demonstrated experience leading interactions with external regulatory bodies such as CFIA
  • Experience driving continuous improvement through demonstrated project ownership and execution
  • Cross business collaboration and partnership experience Confirmed experience in designing business strategy/vision and execution
  • Bilingual in French-Canadian and English as this role supports all of Canada

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Assist in the creation of the FSQR strategic and tactical business planning for the NA region and own and execute the process for the Canada FSQR team.
  • Lead and develop the teams talent pipeline through succession planning, performance management, couching, mentoring , and the hiring process.
  • Analyze, review and interpret external regulations and customer and supplier standards and then implement the necessary policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations for the Canada POD.
  • Build and maintain leadership and key stakeholder partnerships with cross functional teams to promote an integrated safety and quality culture and support commercial strategies.
  • Independently facilitate resolution to highly complex issues and proactively anticipate risks and implement preventative action or mitigation plans as applicable.
  • Support the development and escalation of new innovations, continous improvement and process maintenance intiatives 
  • Support the Canada and broader NA Regions base and non base capital to maintain and improve the food safety management systems and product safety.
