Description

Gnostech, LLC is seeking an experienced Drafter/CAD Operator II to support the Navy and Marine Corps (NAVWAR/NIWC Pacific) Meteorology and Oceanography (METOC) In Service Engineering (ISEA) Programs. The Draft/CAD Operator II position prepares detailed drawings and computer models for projects, parts, and assemblies using conventional drafting and CAD techniques. This role involves creating multiple views, sectional profiles, and intricate details of mechanical and structural designs. Operators are expected to interpret sketches or specifications and apply standard drafting practices to produce accurate and comprehensive technical drawings.

Position Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed technical drawings and computer-aided designs for mechanical, electrical, structural, and other engineering projects.
  • Create various views, sectional profiles, and intricate details, including irregular or reverse curves and hidden lines.
  • Use conventional drafting and CAD tools and techniques to develop and revise design documents.
  • Produce simple revisions to existing drawings based on verbal instructions or detailed specifications.
  • Develop complex revisions from sketches, models, or specifications that clearly define the desired output.
  • Make arithmetic computations using standard engineering formulas.
  • Consult manuals and measure layouts to obtain dimensions and tolerances.
  • Prepare and revise design drawings for construction, installation, or assembly of systems
  • Ensure that drawings comply with project requirements, quality standards, and applicable engineering practices.

Minimum Security Clearance

  • Current active Secret Clearance

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficient in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or similar platforms).
  • Working knowledge of conventional drafting techniques, engineering terms, and documentation.
  • Ability to interpret specifications, engineering sketches, and technical references.
  • Skilled in preparing design documents with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Competence in performing standard mathematical computations for technical drawings.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with engineers, designers, and project managers.
