Job Description
AECOM has a career opportunity for an Environmental Permitting Specialist (New England) to join our class leading Northeast Environmental Planning & Permitting Practice. This position will require environmental permitting experience in Massachusetts and other New England States with particular expertise with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act Regulations (310 CMR 10.00), S. 404/401 of the CWA, MEPA, Ch.91 and related land-use regulations.
The selected individual will get an opportunity to support a wide range of diverse and exciting projects in multiple client sectors including Energy (electric transmission, generation, renewables), State Infrastructure Projects, Federal Sector Projects and Industrial Projects.
A strong understanding of the regulatory permit requirements, ability to attend and lead public presentations and work within a team environment is a requirement.
The position is based in Massachusetts or nearby New England States and can be remote with some project and client travel, project meetings and site meetings.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • BA / BS in Environmental Science, Biology, Sciences or related field + 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education
  • Environmental permitting experience is required.
  • Due to the nature of work, US citizenship is required.
  • Valid Driver's License and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.

Preferred Requirements:
  • MS and 12+ years of permitting experience preferred.
  • Background in Wetland Science, Policy and Land Use Regulations desired.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and computer skills required.
