Job description

Data Migration Project Manager (Senior or Lead)

Company:

The Boeing Company

We are seeking a seasoned Data Migration Project Manager (Senior or Lead) to lead tactical delivery of enterprise data migrations involving Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Product Data Management (PDM), and Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM). This position is located in Hazelwood, MO; Long Beach, CA; North Charleston, SC; or Seattle, WA.

The Project Manager will coordinate contractors and vendor services, manage risks/issues/opportunities, and ensure data migration pilots and data transformation cycles are delivered to scope, schedule and quality. This role requires strong program execution skills and the ability to work across technical and business stakeholders in a regulated environment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain detailed project plans for data migration pilots and data transformation Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) cycles (tasks, owners, dependencies, timelines)

  • Coordinate day-to-day activities of contractors, vendor purchase services and internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs); validate deliverables against acceptance criteria and Statements of Work (SOWs)

  • Track data migration Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and produce executive ready reporting (reconciliation rates, throughput, defect trends, cutover adherence)

  • Drive issue resolution: facilitate remediation actions, prioritize work with data leads, and escalate unresolved critical items to Senior Manager

  • Enforce schedule and decision Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to keep data migration cycles on track; coordinate resource leveling and contractor allocation

  • Capture lessons learned, update runbooks/templates and drive continuous improvement across data transformation cycles

BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience with Information Technology program or project management

  • 5+ years of experience in program or portfolio management with data migrations as part of complex enterprise-wide digital transformations

  • Experience with large-scale data migration between different database platforms

  • Experience with with SAP S/4HANA, Teamcenter, Opcenter or equivalent enterprise systems

  • Experience leading others and directing all phases of assigned cross-organizational or business unit projects demonstrating proficiency in all project management areas in accordance with accepted project management standards in the industry

  • Experience managing change control processes and to produce clear status reporting and recovery plans

  • Experience with managing high-pressure data migration project schedules

  • Experience with program and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Asana, Smartsheet, or equivalent)

  • Experience analyzing data and generating metrics reports

  • Able and willing to travel up to 25% of the time domestically

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 10 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)

  • PMP or equivalent project management certification

  • Prior experience within aerospace, defense, manufacturing or other regulated industries

  • Experience coordinating migrations involving large binaries (CAD/attachments) and PDM to MOM system interfaces

  • Familiarity with reconciliation and data validation processes (checksums, counts, reconciliation dashboards)

  • Experience managing mixed teams of employees, contractors and vendor professional services

  • Strong facilitation skills for executive steering committees and technical warrooms

  • Comfortable with remote and distributed team coordination across time zones

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
