PRIMARY DUTY:

The Kansas City Regional Recruitment Coordinator must have a passion for Northwest Missouri State University, be highly motivated, and goal-oriented to attract, recruit, and retain prospective students to meet the enrollment goals at Northwest. The desired candidate will reside in the KC metro area. Recruitment Coordinators must represent and promote Northwest Missouri State University accurately and persuasively to prospective students, parents, guidance counselors, educators and other publics within the assigned territory. Additionally, the Recruitment Coordinator assists the Admissions-Recruitment team with the administration of all campus recruitment activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Responsible for the coordination of recruitment and yield in Kansas City metro area.
• This remote position will be based within the recruiting territory to attend off-campus recruitment activities (including but not limited to counselor luncheons, high school visits, college fairs, regional conferences, award presentations, and more).
• Travels to Maryville for on-campus events and training as necessary.
• Collaborate and work closely with Great Jobs KC-KC Scholars partnership to build and maintain positive relationships with Great Jobs KC Advocates, partner high schools, and high school counselors.
• Assist with recruitment activities and college fairs at area community colleges to promote Northwest to prospective transfer students.
• Responsible for the coordination and management of all virtual recruitment activities including but not limited to large group, small group, and personalized sessions with their assigned territory.
• Create and maintain positive relationships with prospective students, parents, guidance counselors, educators, and other publics within assigned territory by providing information on academics, value, scholarships, housing, student life, and general university activities
• Analyze student data to select which recruitment strategies and information is most effective for each prospective student.
• Utilize data management to target select populations for all armchair recruitment activities.
• Actively conduct armchair recruitment that occurs during all stages of the recruitment funnel. Includes contact via emails, personal notes, phone calls, texting, and social media.
• Review, update, and utilize computer-based lead tracking systems to aid in prospective student recruitment
• Utilize value-added and relationship-based techniques when working with prospective students, parents, guidance counselors, educators, and other publics
• Create and achieve territorial goals and objectives based on trend data, historical reporting, and evaluation of prospect and admitted database information
• Analyze, read, and report feedback to Admissions-Recruitment leadership with on-going competitive environment regarding Agricultural Sciences
• Assist with the coordination of Summer Orientation and Registration, Advantage week, and General Registration
• Survey residents of assigned territory to assess needs of prospective students, parents, guidance counselors, educators, and other publics
• Serve as a liaison between various internal departments in resolution of prospective students, parents, guidance counselors, educators, and other publics concerns and issues
• Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Undergraduate Degree

Certification/License: Driver's license

Experience: 1-2 years of experience in the field or a related area

Skills: Extensive knowledge of colleges and universities; ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds as well as cultivate awareness of cultural diversity; strong organizational skills; strong public speaking skills; ability to load, unload, and set up exhibits. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and high comfort level with technology and the ability to analyze and present data effectively.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position will work in a remote office environment with a work schedule determined based on service needs, which will likely include early morning, night, and/or weekend hours.
