Job description

Mortgage Lending Technology Product Owner
Direct Hire | Santa Ana, CA – Hybrid or Remote
W2 Only (No Sponsorship/C2C)

We're looking for a Mortgage Technology Product Owner to bridge the business and engineering teams — owning the product vision and roadmap, translating business goals into a clean, prioritized backlog, and delivering user stories developers can build from day one. You'll keep every release aligned to customer needs, business goals, and lending regulations, while helping our AI-first development Pods move fast by writing clear, well-scoped stories.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product strategy and roadmap for mortgage technology, aligned with business goals and industry trends.
  • Maintain a well-prioritized backlog with clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Partner across IT, engineering, operations, compliance, and the business to ship seamlessly from origination through servicing.
  • Turn stakeholder and customer feedback into product improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards (CFPB, TRID, RESPA).
  • Lead the full product lifecycle from ideation through launch and beyond.
  • Run Agile/Scrum practices — sprint planning, backlog grooming, and delivery tracking.
  • Monitor performance post-launch and manage technology, compliance, and security risks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Finance, or related field (MBA a plus).
  • 5+ years in product management focused on mortgage technology, financial services, or fintech.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage origination, servicing, and compliance processes.
  • Proven experience managing the full product lifecycle.
  • Hands-on Agile/Scrum experience with development teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with mortgage tech platforms (LOS, POS, CRM), APIs, and integrations.
  • Cloud experience (AWS, Azure) and vendor management.
  • CSPO or PMI-ACP certification a plus.
