This is accomplished by using secure remote access software, allowing the technician to control the computer as if they were sitting in front of it. Remote computer repair is commonly used for troubleshooting, virus removal, software installation, and general system maintenance. It saves time and is convenient for both the user and the technician, but it usually cannot address hardware problems that require physical intervention.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote computer repair technician?

To thrive as a Remote Computer Repair Technician, you need strong troubleshooting skills, knowledge of computer hardware and software, and often a relevant certification such as CompTIA A+. With long-standing customer relationships and a reputation for quality service, they've built one of the largest service organizations in the industry.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel-powered generator systems
  • Troubleshoot engines, electrical systems, controls, and ATS equipment

  • Independent field service

Experience servicing Cummins, Kohler, CAT, MTU, Generac, or similar commercial generator platforms is preferred.

What Sets This Opportunity Apart?
  • Home-based territory
  • Take-home service truck
  • Support from a nationwide parts and service network
  • Stable customer base with long-term commercial relationships
  • Ongoing manufacturer training
  • Opportunity to support critical infrastructure customers where reliability matters most
