The IT Business Support Analyst is the link between business stakeholders and technical teams. They will be responsible for making independent, creative, and technical contributions. The IT Business Support Analyst identifies end-user business and functional requirements for the implementation, enhancement, and updates to business solutions, system utilization and optimization, workflow creation, reporting, and end-user training. The IT Business Support Analyst will utilize insurance industry insight as well as an understanding of data flow within relational databases inform their work. This position will support the design and development of any new projects and general tasks and will help to perform necessary programming to ensure any new projects are completed and functioning properly.
Key Responsibilities:
· Project leader supporting business needs.
· Pull, Distribute, and assist in analyzing company and industry data as requested by stakeholders.
· Lead the design and development of reporting tools within all business functions.
· Assist with vendor integration to support internal customers.
· Assist in the development of training materials.
· Participate in system test reviews, development design reviews, usability studies, status meetings and walkthroughs
· End-to-end delivery of requirements throughout the life cycle of the project in alignment with the business needs and strategies.
· Must be able to develop an understanding of the company's testing methods and equipment and the related data and reporting requirements.
· Look at metrics and results from the use of systems to see if they are acceptable from a corporate standpoint.
· Triage and resolve incoming help desk tickets related to our Policy Administration System.
· Coordinate issues logged in the ticketing systems with our stakeholders and vendors.
· Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and SQL.
· Current holder of, or working towards, a professional designation.
· Organized and detail oriented, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently.
· Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
· Strong technology, analytical and communication skills.
· Results oriented; strong ability to execute large initiative with multiple stakeholders.
· Detail oriented, analytical and inquisitive.
· Clear written and verbal communications.
· Extremely organized with strong time-management skills.
Education and Experience Required:
· Prefer a bachelor's degree in business, information technology, or computer science.
· Prefer 3+ years experience in an IT focused environment.
· Prefer 3+ years' experience in Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance industry.
· Prefer holder of an insurance designation.
