  • Under minimal supervision, has overall responsibility for the application engineering, programming, troubleshooting, start-up, and check-out of assigned installed projects which are primarily larger and more complex.
  • Individuals work shall be in accordance with the established quality standards.
  • He/she is the technical support contact for our customer and is responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction with installed Fire, Security, and/or Building Automation Systems.
  • Ensures projects are effectively executed to budgeted cost and time schedules.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

What You’ll Need

  • Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
  • Solid knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
  • Advanced programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
  • Advanced mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
  • Highly proficient computer skills including MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel), AutoCAD and/or viewing software; solid networking & IT skills (Security & Building Automation primarily).

Requirements:

Education: College degree, trade school or equivalent experience

Minimum Experience: 5-7 years previous, relevant low-voltage systems project

Preferred Experience: (but not required):  

  • Experience in 1 or more of the following industries: electronic, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation

The expected compensation range for this position is between $42 to $54 an hour, depending on experience.
