Senior System Engineer Remote role Location: Leesburg, VA 6- Months Contract USC/ GC Job Description: Client is seeking Systems Engineer for a position in the Northern Virginia / Washington, DC Metro area. This position provides challenging work in an exciting industry using modern software tools. This position is contingent upon contract award. Responsibilities
  • Plans, coordinates, and heads working groups in the development, planning, and execution of Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) programs, projects, and activities.
  • Interfaces with stakeholders, identifies and understands their program goals and needs, and develops best-value solutions.
  • Develops systems integration solutions and extends system models using existing requirements, interface documentation, and related design and systems engineering documents, working with commercial MBSE tools.
  • Participates in integrating or converting from document-based to model-based architectures, and participates in restructuring existing models.
  • Collaborates with the engineering and interdisciplinary research team, contributing to and supporting the development of reference or system-level architectures for acquisition or operational systems.
  • Manages the execution of the systems engineering process, including interfaces, key performance parameters, and operational concepts.
  • Develops, updates, and maintains MBSE training and tool integration based on programmatic needs; and provides guidance and mentorship for MBSE tools and processes.
  • Provides MBSE expertise and related support to the entire systems engineering team; and communicates with program leaders, including Chief Engineers, System Architects, and Program Managers.
Required Qualifications
  • Must possess a Bachelors in engineering (e.g., systems, electrical, mechanical, or computer engineering), mathematics, or a computer science-related field.
  • Have at least three (3) years of experience with different forms of modeling, such as computational or physics-based simulation
  • The candidate must be highly organized, responsible, self-motivated, and possess exceptional communication skills - both verbal and written.
Required Skills
  • Experience with SysML (Systems Modeling Language) is the industry standard and a core topic.
  • MBSE tools - Sparx Enterprise Architecture, Genesys, or Cameo Systems Modeler.
  • Hands-on experience with popular tools like Cameo Systems Modeler, IBM Rational Rhapsody, and Enterprise Architect
  • Understanding how to use models to manage requirements, perform analysis, and conduct verification and validation.
