Remote Computer Embroidery Designer information

What is a Remote Computer Embroidery Designer?

A Remote Computer Embroidery Designer is a professional who creates embroidery patterns and designs using specialized computer software, often working from a remote location. They translate artwork, logos, or concepts into digital embroidery files that can be used by embroidery machines to produce textiles, apparel, and accessories. These designers must have strong artistic skills, technical knowledge of embroidery software, and an understanding of fabric types and thread behavior. Working remotely allows them to collaborate with clients and manufacturers worldwide, often communicating designs and revisions electronically.

What are some common challenges faced when collaborating remotely with production teams as a Computer Embroidery Designer?

As a Remote Computer Embroidery Designer, one common challenge is ensuring clear communication with production teams regarding design specifications, thread colors, and fabric types. Since you are not on-site, misinterpretations can occur, so it’s essential to use detailed digital mockups and maintain frequent check-ins via email or video calls. Additionally, file compatibility issues can arise when transferring embroidery files, so being familiar with multiple embroidery software formats is helpful. Building strong relationships with team members and proactively addressing questions helps ensure smooth project delivery.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Computer Embroidery Designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Computer Embroidery Designer, you need strong artistic ability, proficiency in design principles, and experience with embroidery digitizing, typically supported by a relevant design background. Expertise in specialized software like Wilcom, Hatch, or Brother PE-Design, along with familiarity with different embroidery machine file formats, is essential. Attention to detail, creativity, and effective communication are standout soft skills for understanding client needs and collaborating remotely. These skills ensure high-quality, production-ready designs that meet client specifications and optimize machine performance.

What is the difference between Remote Computer Embroidery Designer vs Machine Embroidery Digitizer?

The Machine Embroidery Digitizer specializes in converting artwork into machine-readable embroidery files, typically requiring specific digitizing skills. Both roles are essential in the embroidery industry but differ in their primary focus and skill sets.

This position is designed for a performance-driven professional who thrives on coaching a multi-tier team to "hunt" at scale and meeting aggressive deployment goals through systematic discipline and accountability.

Core Responsibilities: Pipeline Mechanics & Rigor

  • Pipeline Engineering:Move beyond "networking" to "mechanics". You will break down capital deployment goals into precise funnel math:Targets Outreach Initial Meetings Qualified Leads LOIs.
  • Operational Leadership:Establish a high-urgency culture with daily activity expectations, weekly sprints, and ruthless CRM management. If it isn't in the CRM, it didn't happen.
  • Team Coaching & Inspection:Manage a multi-tier BD organization, including junior lead generators and senior relationship managers. You will conduct "call reviews," message audits, and objection-handling workshops while holding middle management accountable for quality and volume.
  • AI & Tech Stack Optimization:Lead the implementation of AI-driven enrichment, automated sequencing, and predictive lead scoring to increase outbound capacity by 2-3x.
  • Market & Buy Box Mastery:Use data to sharpen our Ideal Company Profile (ICP) and identify high-probability sub-verticals. You are responsible for ensuring that 95% of deals entering the "Red Zone" comply with our Buy Box.
  • Trip & Trade Show ROI:Oversee a program of annual research trips and trade shows, ensuring each trip meets specific meeting and NDA generation targets.

Key Outcomes (12-18 Month Scorecard):

The VP will be held accountable to the following 2026 team-level targets for the 15-person BD org:

  • Deployment:Achieve $50M of sourced capital deployed in 2026 through system discipline.
  • Scaling:Design a roadmap to quadruple our leads by 2028
  • Forecasting:Maintain a rolling 90-day weighted pipeline forecast with 10-15% accuracy.

The Ideal Profile:

  • Experience:10+ years of experience leading high-performance sales teams at a software company or start-up (e.g., Enterprise Sales Director, PE Origination Lead, or GTM Leader), with a track record of hiring, developing, and retaining "A players"
  • Mindset:A "Pipeline Mechanic" who sees the market as a territory to be conquered through systematic outreach and value-proposition iteration.

Competencies:

  • Expertise in sales tech stacks (Salesforce, Outreach/Sales loft, AI enrichment tools).
  • Deep experience in SDR/BDR management and coaching.
  • Fluency in "Funnel Math"-knowing exactly how many touches it takes to reach a signed LOI.
  • Prior experience designing and implementing performance-aligned incentive and commission structures to drive acquisition growth and team motivation
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills with confidence and polish to speak with senior executives and business intermediaries
  • Very well organized, detail-oriented, and able to work variable hours.
  • Extraordinary work ethic and a proactive sense of urgency.
  • Highly analytical
