Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8–10 hours/day within JFS core hours of 7:00 AM–6:00 PM ET
On-Call: Subject to an on-call rotation for mission-critical file transfers
Position Overview
The State of Ohio is seeking an experienced Axway SecureTransport (ST) Engineer / Product Specialist 5 with strong hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting Advanced Routing (AR) for Managed File Transfer (MFT) environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Axway SecureTransport, RHEL/Linux administration, enterprise security, routing, certificates, and Tier-3 troubleshooting in regulated and mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities
  •  Design, build, configure, and support Axway SecureTransport Advanced Routing. 
  •  Configure routing policies, routes, partners, transfer sites, subscriptions, schedules, and SLAs. 
  •  Perform Tier-3 troubleshooting across ST, operating system, network, and application layers. 
  •  Conduct root-cause analysis and implement remediation. 
  •  Manage SFTP/SSH, HTTPS/TLS, FTPS, and PGP/GPG security protocols. 
  •  Manage users, roles, partner configurations, certificates, keys, and access controls. 
  •  Develop scripts for log parsing, certificate validation, and routing checks. 
  •  Monitor transfer health, routing flows, partner failures, and certificate expirations. 
  •  Manage certificate lifecycle activities including CSRs, issuance, renewal, and trust/key stores. 
  •  Develop and maintain SOPs, runbooks, technical documentation, and knowledge articles. 
  •  Collaborate with application, security, network, and business teams. 
  •  Support security hardening, audits, compliance activities, and vulnerability remediation. 
Required Skills
  • 5+ years administering Axway SecureTransport in production
  • 5+ years Linux/RHEL system administration
  • 3+ years designing/supporting Axway Advanced Routing
  • 3+ years Tier-3 troubleshooting across ST protocols and routing 
  • 3+ years enterprise security, including: 
    •  SSH 
    •  PKI 
    •  PGP/GPG 
    •  TLS 
    •  Certificates 
  •  Strong knowledge of SFTP, HTTPS/TLS, FTPS, and MFT
  •  Experience with routing, policies, partner configuration, subscriptions, and transfer sites
  •  Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills 
Preferred / Highly Desired
  •  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  •  Linux, Security, or Axway certifications
  •  Experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, or similar monitoring platforms 
  •  Experience with load balancers, firewalls, NAT, DNS, IP subnets, and routing 
  •  Experience with CIS/NIST security hardening
  •  Experience managing certificate/key rotation 
  •  Experience in highly regulated or mission-critical environments
