This position is designed to be remote, offering you the flexibility to conduct sessions from your home or another suitable setting. Although remote, you will be part of a supportive and collaborative team that meets regularly to discuss cases, share insights, and improve treatment strategies. Our outpatient office, which serves as the main hub, provides a rich resource for referrals and connections to ancillary support services when necessary.

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify the specific needs of clients and formulate personalized treatment plans.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions.
• Lead psychoeducational and support groups, fostering a safe and open environment for participants to explore shared experiences and challenges.
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity and comprehensiveness of care for clients.
• Provide crisis intervention support, equipping clients with coping strategies and resources during acute mental health episodes.
• Educate clients about mental health issues, available treatment options, and resources within the local community to empower their recovery journey.
• Maintain meticulous, confidential documentation in adherence to legal and ethical guidelines, ensuring accurate record-keeping through our electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Engage in regular case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
• Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in mental health therapies to apply current best practices in patient care.

As a Mental Health Therapist at Life Wave Counseling Center, you will work primarily with a diverse client base that includes adults facing varying degrees of emotional distress, as well as couples striving to improve their relationships. Your role is crucial in providing culturally competent care tailored to each individual's unique background and personal challenges, ensuring that treatment is accessible and relevant.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• A valid and unrestricted professional license, such as LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW, in the state of Illinois.
• Demonstrated knowledge of various mental health disorders and a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
• Experience in executing comprehensive mental health assessments and developing individualized treatment strategies.
• Proven track record in providing individual and group therapy to clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective engagement with clients and team members.
• Strong ethical standards, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain professional boundaries.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficiency in essential computer applications.
• A collaborative spirit and a commitment to teamwork within a multidisciplinary setting.

• A minimum of two years of direct clinical experience in mental health counseling, particularly within outpatient settings.
• Experience in group facilitation and psychoeducation.
• History of implementing innovative therapeutic techniques and contributing to service improvement initiatives.
