Position Overview

Life Wave Counseling Center is seeking dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counselors to join our remote team. In this full-time position, you will play a crucial role in providing telehealth services to individuals facing various mental health challenges. Work Environment

As a telehealth-based organization, Life Wave Counseling Center provides a flexible work setting. Our therapists work remotely, which allows for a balanced work-life dynamic while still ensuring that our clients receive the support they need. The use of modern telecommunications technology facilitates effective communication and fosters therapeutic relationships. Although scheduled work hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, some flexibility may be necessary to accommodate client needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments that identify client needs, preferences, and goals, aiding in the development of tailored treatment plans.
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy, to individuals, couples, and families.
• Facilitate psychoeducational groups that help clients build resilience and community support, addressing a range of mental health concerns.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care for clients.
• Provide crisis intervention services and support clients during mental health emergencies, guiding them to appropriate resources.
• Educate clients about their mental health conditions, treatment options, and available community resources for additional support.
• Maintain accurate, confidential, and ethical documentation in compliance with professional and legal standards.
• Engage in regular case consultations, team meetings, and professional development activities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
• Stay abreast of developments in the mental health field, incorporating new research and methodologies into practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our counseling center serves a diverse population facing a range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, and substance abuse. Therapists at Life Wave Counseling Center are dedicated to creating a safe and trusting environment for clients from various backgrounds and life experiences, ensuring that everyone receives quality care tailored to their unique needs.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure in New York as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R.
• Strong understanding of mental health disorders and mastery of evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Proven ability to conduct comprehensive assessments and devise effective treatment strategies.
• Experience providing individual and group therapy, particularly to diverse populations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to establishing rapport with clients.
• Firm understanding of ethical practices and professional boundaries.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer applications necessary for telehealth.
• Ability to effectively collaborate within a multidisciplinary team for comprehensive patient support.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a telehealth setting, particularly with remote counseling and electronic health records.
• Familiarity with community resources for mental health support and referral networks.
• Knowledge of group facilitation techniques and psychoeducational program development.

Compensation and Benefits

Life Wave Counseling Center offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
