Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments to identify the specific needs, strengths, and recovery goals of patients seeking treatment for substance use disorders.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based therapeutic models, including motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy.
• Facilitate effective individual counseling sessions and lead dynamic group therapy sessions to encourage engagement and mutual support among participants.
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, addiction specialists, and other healthcare providers to ensure that care plans are integrative and comprehensive.
• Stay closely involved during cases of crisis intervention, offering immediate support and strategies to manage substance-related emergencies.
• Educate patients and their families on addiction issues, available resources, and coping strategies to navigate recovery.
• Maintain precise and confidential documentation of patient information and treatment progress following legal regulations and ethical standards.
• Actively participate in team meetings and case consultations, contributing to a culture of constant improvement and knowledge sharing.
• Continuously engage with the latest research and best practices in substance use disorder treatment to enhance your skill set and patient care strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on individuals overcoming substance use disorders, which may range from mild to severe addiction challenges. Our patients come from diverse backgrounds, and many have unique needs and concerns that require tailored therapeutic approaches. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will be instrumental in supporting individuals and their families as they tackle the multifaceted challenges of addiction and recovery.

Qualifications

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMHC, LICSW, or LMFT in the state of Washington.
• Proficiency in understanding substance use disorders, evidence-based treatment modalities, and recovery-oriented care.
• Demonstrated experience delivering both individual and group therapy in addiction treatment contexts, with a compassionate and non-judgmental approach.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, fostering trust and rapport with patients from various backgrounds.
• Capability to uphold professional boundaries, adhere to ethical guidelines, and assure patient confidentiality at all times.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard computer applications relevant to patient care.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2 years of professional experience in a mental health setting, particularly in substance use treatment.
