JOB SPECIFICATION: CARDIAC DEVICE SPECIALIST

Reports to: Manager, Cardiac Implantable Electronic Device (CIED)

Our RhythmStar® mobile cardiac monitoring system is the industry's first cloud-based, all-in-one patient monitoring solution which features a single-component, multi-modality monitor.

RhythMedix has launched the industry's first multi-modality wearable monitor that includes built in cellular technology for real time patient monitoring.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Cardiac Device Specialist (CDS) will support our growing national CIED Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility (IDTF) operations. This role is responsible for the remote review, interpretation, and documentation of cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) transmissions across multiple manufacturers.
The CDS applies advanced knowledge of cardiac electrophysiology and device diagnostics to evaluate transmission data, assess device performance, and contribute to accurate, timely clinical interpretation within a high-volume, operationally disciplined environment.
This role is designed for clinicians who thrive in queue-based, transmission-centric workflows, value precision, and understand the demands of 24/7 IDTF operations.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Perform remote review, interpretation, and quality assurance of CIED transmissions across pacemakers, ICDs, CRTs, and ILRs
  • Analyze device diagnostics, rhythm data, and vendor reports to assess device function and patient status
  • Identify abnormal device behavior or clinically significant findings and document accordingly
  • Apply standardized interpretation frameworks, notification criteria, and escalation guidelines
  • Produce accurate, consistent clinical documentation aligned with IDTF and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with internal clinical, operational, and quality teams
  • Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and PHI requirements
  • Participate in continuous workflow and quality improvement initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & COMPENTENCIES:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree preferred, not required
  • IBHRE Certification (CCDS, CEPS, CDRMS)
  • Background in cardiac monitoring, nursing, allied health, biomedical engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Completion of a cardiac device rhythm management course or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent cardiac device management experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing and interpreting therapeutic cardiac devices, including, but not limited to, pacemakers, ICDs, and CRT devices
  • Experience interpreting diagnostics from Medtronic, Abbott/St. Jude, Boston Scientific, and Biotronik devices
  • Proficiency in working within a Microsoft Office and Teams environment
  • Ability to work efficiently in high-volume, queue-based environments
  • Strong attention to detail and clinical judgment
  • Comfortable operating within structured SOPs
  • Self-directed and accountable in a remote setting yet able to work collaboratively
  • Remote work or hybrid if within a commutable distance to Headquarters in Mount Laurel, NJ
