Position: Environmental Compliance Project Manager/Assistant Project Manager 

Industry: Environmental Compliance  

Location: Remote 

Compensation:$75,000 - 100,000 depending on qualifications experience 
Apex's Compliance Assurance program is expanding and is looking for an Environmental Compliance Project Manager.  The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-orientated and has the people and technical compliance skills needed to support and manage client projects. 

Your Responsibilities as a Project Manager:

  • Prepare environmental permits and reports for projects, facilities, and operations for clients in various industries including e-commerce, transportation and warehousing.  
  • High degree of technical competency in NPDES stormwater (industrial and MS4), SPCC and RCRA.  
  • Familiarity with applicable environmental programs including but not limited to Stormwater, SPCC, Hazardous Waste, and minor source air permitting, recordkeeping and reporting. 
  • Provide technical oversight and mentor scientific staff to ensure quality work products are completed on time and with accuracy.  
  • Client interaction and relationship development including onsite and virtual client meetings. Limited overnight travel, as necessary, is not anticipated to be greater than 10%. 
  • Strong track record managing project deliverables, schedules and budgets.  
  • Analyze environmental legislation and regulations and determine impact on client activities. 
  • Define and develop your own professional growth with mentoring from senior managers. 
  • Flexible working conditions.  In office, hybrid or remote.  Occasional office meetings. 

What we're looking for:

  • BS in chemical, environmental or civil engineering, geology, environmental science, or another related field. 
  • 5-10 years of professional experience in consulting or industry.  
  • Proficient at independently researching, reviewing, and guiding compliance with environmental regulations at a Federal, State and Local level; including SPCC, NPDES &, discharge permitting, hazardous waste management. 
  • Knowledge and experience completing discharge monitoring reports, annual reports, NECs, and NOIs.  
  • Ability to successfully multi-task and problem solve while maintaining quality and manage your own time.  
  • Strong communication skills, and collaborative work ethic.  
  • Strong safety awareness, and an understanding of safe work practices. 
  • Excellent writing and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite are required.
