This full-time, remote position allows flexibility while serving a crucial role in providing therapeutic services to children and families across California. With a salary range of USD 60,000 to 80,000 per year, this position offers competitive compensation for those passionate about making a significant difference in the lives of youth with unique challenges.

About the Organization

Peaceful Pathways Mental Health P.C. is committed to providing comprehensive, community-based mental health services. Located in Fresno, California, we focus on enhancing the well-being of children and their families by offering tailored mental health support. Our services are designed to address the needs of children, particularly those with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges, and our team is comprised of compassionate professionals who believe in holistic care and the importance of collaboration within the community.

Work Environment

This position is fully remote, which provides an excellent opportunity for work-life balance while still being part of an impactful community health organization. Working from home, the LMFT will engage in productive interactions with clients and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team through virtual platforms. The role offers a dynamic environment that fosters innovation, professional development, and the utilization of various therapeutic techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions via teletherapy platforms, focusing on in-home therapy approaches to best meet client needs.
  • Implement interventions to improve anger management, social skills, and coping techniques among clients, while actively working to reduce high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior and physical aggression.
  • Develop effective strategies to assist caregivers in managing behavioral challenges at home, enhancing decision-making skills within family dynamics.
  • Collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to care, attending regular meetings to discuss client progress and share recommendations.
  • Complete all required documentation promptly, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to compliance standards and ensuring quality of care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of your role will be to serve children and adolescents aged 3 to 20 who have developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. You will play a vital role in providing them with intensive, community-based therapeutic services that are culturally sensitive and tailored to their unique needs. As a bilingual therapist, you will also enhance communication and support for Spanish and Portuguese-speaking clients, ensuring accessibility to essential mental health services.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.
  • Must possess an active and unrestricted LMFT license to practice in the state of California.
  • A commitment to working a minimum of 5-10 hours each week during the after-school hours of 4-7 PM, with additional availability on weekends being a plus.
  • Proficient in providing positive behavior support, demonstrating effective strategies to assist clients in challenging situations.
  • Experience working with youth, particularly those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is highly valued.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a registered vehicle are essential for potential travel needs and community engagement.
  • A successful completion of a criminal background check and fingerprinting will be required.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience working in community health settings or with interdisciplinary teams is preferred.
  • Experience in family systems therapy and knowledge of trauma-informed care practices will be beneficial.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is a highly desired asset, as it facilitates improved communication and service delivery for clients in those communities.
Compensation and Benefits

Employees at Peaceful Pathways enjoy a competitive salary ranging from USD 60,000 to 80,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:

  • A dynamic and supportive work environment that values collaboration and innovation.
