Job description

Position Description Program Manager, Library and Technology Resources Expected Starting Salary Range: $95,000-$102,000 The Community College League of California (League) is a nonprofit public benefit corporation whose voluntary membership consists of the 73 local public community college districts in California. The League's Library and Technology Resources program is operated in partnership with the Council of Chief Librarians. This program provides informational databases and other vital online technology resources to libraries at all 116 California Community colleges and many off-campus centers throughout California and beyond.

Under the direction of the Senior Director, Library & Technology, the Library and Technology Program Manager provides support to the Community College Library and Technology Consortium by evaluating electronic resources and providing technical and functional expertise in the use of the Consortia Manager platform. This position plays a key role in expanding access to quality library resources for California Community Colleges. This is a remote position, but candidates must reside in California.

This position attends and facilitates virtual meetings on a regular basis which require a stable internet connection and professional presence. Occasional travel for vendor meetings and conferences is required. This position reports to the Senior Director of Library and Technology Resources.

Background/Position Requirements Bachelor's degree in library science, information science, or a related field preferred. At least two years of experience in a California community college (CCC) library or similar academic library setting. Hands-on experience with electronic resources, including evaluation, licensing, or management.

Familiarity with procurement software or library management tools; prior use of Consortia Manager preferred. Experience working in a collaborative environment with multiple stakeholders or institutions. Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Deep understanding of electronic information resources for academic libraries.

Strong attention to detail, especially in reviewing contracts, usage statistics, and product specifications. Proficiency with database and spreadsheet tools; ability to manage data and produce reports. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written as well as ability to interact with various levels of stakeholders.

Ability to independently organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Skill in reviewing resources for 508 accessibility compliance. Position Responsibilities Procurement System Expertise Serve as the internal expert and primary administrator for the Consortia Manager platform.

Set up products, manage subscription cycles, input pricing, and maintain accurate college participation data. Work with the fiscal and communications staff to ensure smooth ordering and billing workflows via Consortia Manager. Vendor and Member College Support Act as liaison between colleges and vendors for inquiries, issues, and onboarding.

Help libraries understand product offerings, pricing structures, and ordering timelines. Coordinate and track trial access and college feedback on potential resources. Documentation and Communication Maintain updated resource descriptions and order details on consortium webpages.

Assist with developing guides and documentation to support librarian use of the consortium's offerings. Accessibility and Equity Considerations Assess products for accessibility (508 compliance) and communicate issues or recommendations. Support efforts to expand access to relevant, inclusive, and equity-focused resources across all colleges.

Other Characteristics Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move boxes not exceeding 25 pounds. Travel: Occasional travel for vendor meetings and conferences.
