Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

Manage project logistics and assist field team with project implementation. Assist Project Manager with job start, job completion, and job closeout.

HIGH PAYOFF ACTIVITES

Assist Project Manager with Job Start

  • Organize Project Plan Files, i.e., combine individual sheets into one file.
  • Cross reference all trade sheets for power requirements.
  • Write RFIs, paste RFI responses on active sheets in PlanGrid, notify project team of RFI updates.
  • Price standard change orders, Log potential change orders and update as needed copy PA
  • Schedule and conduct pre-construction coordination meetings, document action plans.
  • Order / track submittals weekly Upon Project Manager Approval.
  • Complete Job Schedule Analysis, Create critical delivery milestone log and post for whiteboard

Assist Field Team with Procurement Logistics & Project Details

  • Ensure field crews understand the scope of the project in relation to the contract and plans.
  • Complete specification review.
  • Weekly review contract plans and documents to ensure field crews have required information and correct materials to complete the project.
  • Verify fixture counts and verify ARCP vs ERCP.
  • Monitor purchase requests to ensure material complies with plans, specs, project scope and K2 install practices.
  • Communicate Project Logistics to Foremen, i.e., timing, special equipment needs unique scope etc.
  • Update tracking logs weekly and upon most current information, send to foreman.

Assist Project Manager with Project Tracking

  • Assist with identifying Change Order scope and the most profitable approach. Ensure all change orders are captured, notify contractor of cost impacts.
  • Track Submittals to purchase order release.
  • Request and file other trade submittals.
  • Keep up to date files within PlanGrid and server folders.
  • Complete Site Visits for Ongoing Projects Based on Job Length, i.e., one site visit monthly.
  • Track Gear and Fixture and Specialty commodity Orders weekly, send to foreman.

Assist Project Manager with Job Closeout

  • Prompt Foremen to submit As-Built Drawings 30 Days Prior to Job completion.
  • Track punch list.
  • Track/procure attic stock.
  • Participate in Recap Meetings: Review Cost to Complete Analysis, i.e., job phase deadlines met.

OTHER TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Intermediate PC literacy, including experience in MS Word/Excel and construction software
  • Proficient in reading and understanding prints/designs
  • Ability to work well with others under deadline situations and respond to changes in priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and accuracy
  • Strong problem-solving and analysis skills
  • Strong service orientation

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Commercial electrical field experience combined with (1) year of field/project engineering experience OR a bachelor's degree in construction management with (2) years of field/project engineering experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to sit or stand at a desk for long hours when working in the office
  • Ability to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity equipment
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds as needed in routine activities associated with position
  • Ability to wear PPE when working/visiting a project location
  • Ability to work in extreme heat when working/visiting a project location
  • Ability to move safely over uneven terrain when working/visiting a project location
