Job description

Focus Digital is a specialized digital marketing agency providing expert-level SEO and PPC services to small and medium-sized businesses at affordable price points. Our mission is to help small businesses thrive by delivering realistic ROI expectations and sustainable growth strategies, with qualified lead generation as our main KPI.
We're seeking an experienced Senior Editor to own content production and client relationships for our SEO clients. This role combines hands-on writing and editing with direct client management. You'll translate content strategy into deliverables while building strong client relationships and ensuring content quality aligns with business objectives.
About the Role:
Client Management & Communication:
  • Serve as the primary content contact for assigned client accounts, building strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction
  • Conduct regular client calls (3-5+ per week) to present content, review feedback, and discuss strategy
  • Translate SEO content strategies into clear, understandable business value for clients
  • Manage client expectations by setting realistic timelines and content performance projections aligned with our agency methodology
  • Facilitate communication between our writing team and clients to ensure smooth content delivery

Content Production:
  • Write SEO-optimized content (blogs, web pages, service pages) for assigned clients across various industries
  • Research topics, interview subject matter experts when needed, and adapt to different brand voices
  • Meet deadlines while managing multiple client accounts simultaneously

Editing & Quality Control:
  • Edit and quality-check content from our writing team before client delivery
  • Provide direct, actionable feedback to writers to maintain our quality standards
  • Review content to ensure alignment with SEO strategy, brand voice, and client objectives
  • Stay current with SEO content best practices to provide informed editorial guidance

Strategic Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with internal strategists and project managers on content planning and account strategy
  • Provide recommendations for content improvements and expansion opportunities
  • Report to the managing editor on account health, content performance, and team development needs

At Focus Digital, we believe in being our clients' team, working tirelessly to provide deliverables and results that honor the trust placed in us. Our approach focuses on clear communication, realistic expectations, strategic partnership, and sustainable growth across industries.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional writing and editing experience
  • Portfolio of organized writing samples (link required)
  • General understanding of SEO content (we'll train you on our methods)
  • Experience editing other writers' work, not just your own
  • Direct client experience (you've owned relationships, not just received assignments)
  • Proficiency with project management software and Google Suite
  • Available for client meetings during US business hours

Strongly Preferred
  • Generalists who thrive working with multiple clients and industries
  • People who find client calls energizing, not draining
  • Self-starters who figure things out without heavy direction
  • Writers who also enjoy editing (or editors who still like to write)
  • Context-switchers (your brain likes variety, not deep single-project focus)

Benefits
  • Salary of $65,000 - $75,000, depending on experience
  • Health, Vision, Dental Insurance
  • 2 Weeks of PTO, Typical Bonus PTO Between Christmas and New Years
  • 401(k) with 4% Match
  • Fully Remote
