Job description

Location: Remote in US 

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for developing and executing tactical and medium level of complexity strategic commodity plans for the Global Procurement team within Fluke Health Solutions. The role will include strategic and tactical responsibilities within the direct functions while supporting tactical needs for NPI. This individual will aid in delivering year-over-year cost reduction, on-time delivery, assurance of supply, quality and working capital improvement initiatives with suppliers. The procurement specialist acts as the first line of defense for any part shortages, cost increases or other escalations that come from directly from operations. This individual will work cross functionally with engineering, project management, & R&D teams identifying, selecting, understanding and sourcing BOM requirements. Must have project management skills with the ability to communicate supply and constraints, report status, escalate where necessary, and resolve issues. The position allows vast and varied global cross functional exposure and room for development and growth. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Advocate on behalf of supply chain function to ensure continuous support for company business objectives. 
  • Build and maintain operational partnerships with preferred suppliers and drive year-over-year performance improvements with suppliers. Primary interface with suppliers on delivery status, issues, and resolution. Escalate when required.
  • Support RFQ activities by obtaining supplier quotations, preparing analyses, tracking responses, and facilitating sourcing decisions with Commodity Managers
  • Support supplier qualification, onboarding, and change activities through FPQP and applicable supplier management processes
  • Properly drive supply base to meet market launch dates to scheduled requirements at best cost possible
  • Rationalize and consolidate supplier base through the solicitation of competitive bids 
  • Detailed and robust project management skills to lead and provide necessary updates 
  • Be involved in new and on-going supplier audit activities. Solicit supplier information related to FHS, FDA and government agency compliance requirements. 
  • Support unfavorable purchase price variance (uPPV) mitigation activities through analysis, tracking, supplier engagement, and escalation. Maintain action logs, status updates & countermeasure plans
  • Conduct supply chain risk reviews via FTV SRM (supplier risk management) playbook. Manage production supplies transitions. Partner with design team to minimize supplier risk -avoid sole source, identify multiple qualified manufacturers, utilize preferred suppliers/parts/materials, avoid new suppliers, & thoroughly evaluate new suppliers
  • Maintain purchase orders and resolve invoice price discrepancies for direct material. Place POs as and when needed to solve immediate material needs and in preparation for product launch. Take corrective action as necessary.
  • Evaluate supplier cost increase requests, prepare supporting analyses, challenge unsupported increases, and support Commodity Managers in cost mitigation and negotiation activities
  • Support administration of contractual arrangements, negotiations and stocking agreements 
  • Coordinate procurement readiness activities for new product introductions including supplier communication, lead-time validation, quotation support, and purchase order placement
  • Rapid response to customer demand increases - assurance of supply/material support
  • Create and maintain purchase orders, blanket purchase agreements, source list assignments, supplier records, and pricing information within Oracle and related business systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement of systems and processes utilized for job responsibilities
  • Perform such similar, comparable, or related duties as may be required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of work experience in supply chain, material procurement and inventory management 
  • Good organization, project management and follow-through skills
  • Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems with a solid understanding of manufacturing, bills of material and supply chain principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.  Ability to evaluate multiple data sources to enable decision making or present clear recommendations to leadership.
  • Demonstrated skills in supplier negotiation and relationship management
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and act in a proactive manner.
  • Microsoft office and Oracle experience preferred
  • Self-motivated and demonstrate ability to work autonomously in a fast paced, yet strategic environment 
  • Occasional travel to vendor locations is required
