Work EnvironmentOnline, flexible, e-commerce platformsOnline, diverse industries, various topics
Employer & Industry UsageRetail, online marketplaces, brandsMedia, marketing agencies, blogs
Search & Comparison IntentUnderstanding e-commerce content rolesGeneral content creation roles

The main difference is that Remote Commerce Writers focus on creating product descriptions, category pages, and e-commerce content, requiring knowledge of online retail and SEO. Remote Content Writers produce a broader range of content across industries, often with less emphasis on e-commerce specifics. Both roles involve remote work and require strong writing skills, but their industry focus and content types differ.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote commerce writer?

To thrive as a Remote Commerce Writer, you need strong writing skills, a keen understanding of SEO, and familiarity with digital content strategies, often supported by a degree in journalism, communications, or a related field. Proficiency in content management systems (like WordPress), affiliate marketing platforms, and analytics tools is typically required. Excellent time management, adaptability, and effective communication skills help you meet deadlines and collaborate remotely with editors and teams. These abilities ensure that commerce content is engaging, optimized for search, and drives revenue while maintaining editorial standards.

What is a remote commerce writer?

A Remote Commerce Writer is a professional who creates content designed to inform and influence readers about products and services, typically for digital publications or e-commerce platforms. Working remotely, they research products, write reviews, buying guides, and promotional articles that help drive online sales and affiliate revenue. Their work often involves SEO optimization, collaborating with editors and marketing teams, and staying updated on the latest trends in e-commerce. This role requires strong writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently from any location.

How does a remote commerce writer typically collaborate with editors and other team members when working from different locations?

As a Remote Commerce Writer, you'll regularly collaborate with editors, SEO specialists, and sometimes product or affiliate teams through digital communication tools like Slack, email, and project management platforms. Editors usually provide assignments, feedback, and deadlines, while team meetings (often held via video calls) help ensure alignment on content strategy and priorities. Clear, proactive communication is essential, as is the ability to adapt to asynchronous workflows and shared documents. This collaborative, digital-first environment allows for flexibility but requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills to maintain productivity and meet goals.

Here at Rightpoint, we have been at the forefront of driving change through experience for over 15 years. We have the insight and expertise to see the big picture, and the talent and technology to deliver exceptional outcomes.

Introduction
We are looking for a dynamic, motivated Business Development Executive who thrives in identifying, pursuing, and closing strategic deals. This "hunter" role requires leveraging existing relationships while building new connections through networking, thought leadership, speaking engagements, alliances, and active industry involvement.
Beyond closing deals, you will work through technology partner channels to ensure the successful identification, pursuit, and closure of strategic opportunities. This approach centers on building and leveraging relationships with external partners, such as technology vendors, solution providers, and industry alliances, to drive business growth. The role is focused on maximizing the value of these partnerships.
The Business Development Executive – Sitecore/Optimizely is responsible for identifying, pursuing, and closing deals for Rightpoint’s suite of experience-led technology solutions, with a particular emphasis on Sitecore and Optimizely platforms. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving company growth by creating and nurturing customer relationships, introducing new prospects, and assisting leads in understanding Rightpoint’s offerings, especially those related to Sitecore and Optimizely. This includes developing pipelines and opportunities with strategic partners, leveraging technology partner channels, and maximizing the value of these partnerships.
What You’ll Be Doing and the Impact You’ll Make:
  • Employ strong discovery skills and knowledge of our products and services, the customer, and key competitors into the sales process and use that knowledge to uncover customer needs and create value-based solutions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to prospects and clients, demonstrating ability to build long term sustainable clients.
  • Generate new relationships with decision makers in organizations.
  • Communicate the value proposition (and differentiation within the market) of the company's entire     suite of services while owning the entire sales cycle of complex, consultative service sales.
  • Build a pipeline and accurately forecast business outcomes on a consistent basis.
  • Consistently qualify, generate, and execute on opportunities that provide profitable revenue to Rightpoint.
  • Collaborate effectively as a team member and also facilitate the sales opportunity by providing leadership and orchestrating the internal and external resources needed to effectively manage the sales process.
What We’d Love to See:
  • 10+ years of sales in the consulting/professional services space, specifically with experience in the Sitecore and Optimizely platforms.
  • 5+ years of Adobe, Big Commerce, Optimizely Commerce, or similar commerce platform implementation sales experience and existing relationships with Adobe sales teams.
  • Demonstrated success of prospecting and closing sizable deals (i.e., $500K+).
  • Strong prospecting skills and ability to develop business.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills with a focus on services sales.
  • Outstanding communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize opportunities, overcome obstacles, obtain results, and finesse the sale.
Why Rightpoint?
  • Flexible PTO – If you need a day off or an extended vacation, take the time!
  • Hybrid work environment: Casual and open office or Remote…You choose!
  • Great insurance coverage (Multiple Options) and flexible spending accounts
  • 401K with Company Matching
  • Monthly Work from Home Stipend
  • Continuous Training, Certifications, and Learning Opportunities
  • Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion: We care about making Rightpoint a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization to bring about meaningful and measurable changes to representation, team member experience, and client engagement.
