Summary
You will serve as a PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST in the REGIONAL FORCE PROTECTION DEPARTMENT of COMNAVREGSW SDIEGO.

Help
  • You will analyze existing Antiterrorism/Force Protection plans to recommend new policy and counter measures.
  • You will analyze current Physical Security procedures (e.g. storage, accountability, accessibility, and program configuration) to confirm security of the site.
  • You will coordinate the command's security awareness and education program for command personnel.
  • You will conduct vulnerability assessments to confirm sufficient protection (e.g. property, information, material) for the organization.

  • Subject to 24-hour recall and is required to respond per command policy.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a SPeD position and requires DoD certification. Selectee must obtain and maintain certification within 24 months of onboarding. Certification required is: Physical Security Certification and Antiterrorism Credential (ATC-Secondary).

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing threat assessments which have anti-terrorism responsibilities; 2) Updating plans, manuals, instructions to provide recommendations regarding changes to security specifications; 3) Coordinating inspections of mission essential vulnerable assets, arms, ammunition, and explosive storage facilities and critical infrastructure; 4) Conducting classroom, formal, and informal training on crime prevention and physical security awareness programs; and 5) Serving as Loss Prevention Technical Specialist/Security Advisor for the installation during required meetings. Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
OR
Have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
OR
Have a combination of experience and education that equates to one year of experience. Percentage of education plus percentage of experience must equal 100%.
