Job description

Our Client is seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and support their Oracle, SQL Server, and Cloud database environments (Snowflake/Azure). This role is responsible for database performance, security, maintenance, disaster recovery, and operational excellence across enterprise systems. The position includes participation in an on-call rotation and after-hours/weekend support to ensure

continuous coverage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and support Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake, and Azure database environments.
  • Maintain and optimize database performance, availability, security, and reliability.
  • Develop, support, and tune SQL scripts, stored procedures, and database maintenance tasks.
  • Collaborate with BI and development teams on database design and query optimization.
  • Implement database patches, upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Manage database security, user access, SOX documentation, and compliance requirements.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues and conduct index, memory, CPU, and storage analysis.
  • Support database replication, clustering, and Change Data Capture (CDC) technologies.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and licensing inventories.
  • Assist with remote database connectivity, infrastructure projects, and technology evaluations.

 Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of database administration experience.
  • Strong expertise in Oracle and SQL Server databases.
  • Experience with cloud database platforms such as Snowflake and Azure.
  • Knowledge of database security, backup/recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery.
  • Experience with database performance tuning, replication, clustering, and CDC.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with Azure cloud solutions - preferred.
  • Exposure to enterprise infrastructure and global IT environments - preferred.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Winston-Salem, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $47.86 - $63.24/hr.
