Job description

Overview
Integral Federal is seeking a Lead ColdFusion Developer / Technical Lead to support the sustainment and enhancement of a mission-critical DISA human capital management application. The selected candidate will provide hands-on technical leadership for a mature Adobe ColdFusion and Microsoft SQL Server application consisting of hundreds of interconnected modules and complex business rules.
This is a hands-on development role, not solely an architectural or management position. The Lead Developer will rapidly develop expertise in the existing application, lead technical analysis and implementation of approved changes, review and guide development performed by other team members, troubleshoot complex production issues, and support controlled weekly and monthly releases.
Responsibilities
• Serve as technical lead for ColdFusion/CFML application development, sustainment, and troubleshooting.
• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance complex ColdFusion and Microsoft SQL Server applications.
• Analyze existing code, business rules, interfaces, database dependencies, and application architecture before implementing changes.
• Lead technical decomposition and estimation of RFCs, user stories, defects, and urgent changes.
• Provide technical direction and code review for other developers while remaining actively involved in coding.
• Establish and reinforce maintainable coding patterns and sound development practices within the legacy application.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, scripts, tables, views, and database interactions.
• Lead investigation and root-cause analysis of complex application, database, integration, and production issues.
• Collaborate with business analysts and Government stakeholders to clarify requirements and identify technical impacts, dependencies, and risks.
• Support developer testing, peer review, Fortify/static-code scanning, security remediation, and defect resolution.
• Coordinate technical readiness for expedited weekly releases and planned monthly production releases.
• Work closely with system administration, DevSecOps, cybersecurity, testing, and database personnel.
• Maintain technical documentation for application architecture, module behavior, interfaces, deployment considerations, and recurring support procedures.
• Mentor developers and help distribute critical application knowledge across the team.
Qualifications
Required:
• Active Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 10+ years of software-development experience.
• 7+ years of hands-on Adobe ColdFusion/CFML development experience.
• Demonstrated experience serving as a technical lead or senior developer for a complex production application.
• Expert-level ability to understand, troubleshoot, and enhance mature or legacy ColdFusion applications.
• Strong Microsoft SQL Server development, performance-analysis, and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and web-application development.
• Experience with Git-based source control, peer/code review, branching, and controlled release processes.
• Strong root-cause analysis and production-support skills.
• Ability to independently take ownership of complex technical problems and drive them through resolution.
• Ability to provide technical direction to other developers without requiring extensive supervision.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with technical and functional customer stakeholders.
Preferred:
• Experience supporting DISA or another Department of Defense organization.
• Experience inheriting and rapidly becoming technically responsible for a large, poorly documented legacy application.
• Experience with Jira, GitLab, Jenkins, Fortify, or comparable DevSecOps tools.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server across development, test/UAT, and production environments.
• Familiarity with PKI, CAC authentication, SSO, and ICAM.
• Familiarity with RMF, STIGs, ACAS/Tenable, SCAP, POA&Ms, and secure software-development requirements.
• Experience supporting Agile/RFC-driven development, customer UAT, expedited releases, and monthly production deployments.
• Experience documenting legacy architecture and business rules and supporting application modernization or migration.
Salary Range: $140,000-170,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline. Integral Federal considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
