Job description

Experience : 10+ years of experience in the solar or electrical construction industry as well as
working knowledge of NYS Uniform Codes. Candidates should have appropriate public-
private partnership demeanor for this role.
Client is seeking a Senior Project Manager to provide technical support for the NY-Sun program. This position will temporarily support the program as a technical resource for Participating Contractors, customers, and Client staff, including the NY-Sun, Quality Management System (QMS), and Storage teams.
The role is focused on supporting the safe, code-compliant installation of Client-funded photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage systems. The consultant will provide technical assistance, review project designs and applications, evaluate quality assurance inspection results, and determine whether contractor corrective actions adequately address identified deficiencies.
This is a remote position with significant interaction with contractors, installers, customers, inspectors, and internal Client teams.
Education and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Significant professional experience in the solar energy or electrical construction industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of New York State Uniform Codes and applicable electrical, building, fire, and related requirements.
  • Experience with photovoltaic and/or energy storage system design, installation, inspection, or technical review is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with solar installers, electrical contractors, inspectors, or related industry stakeholders is preferred.
  • Experience supporting public-sector programs, utility programs, or public-private partnerships is advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, construction plans, wiring diagrams, inspection reports, and applicable codes.
The following credentials are preferred:
  • New York State Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification.
  • UL PV System Installer certification.
  • IBEW Journeyman experience with 40-hour PV training.
