Job Title: Sr. Specialist, PCB Designer- REMOTE

Job Description:

Design and create printed circuit board (PCB) layouts for circuit card assemblies (CCAs) based on inputs and feedback received from design engineers (electrical, mechanical) and manufacturing process engineers (MPEs). This process includes placing components within a given size envelope, routing metal traces between those parts, holding milestone reviews with stakeholders, and releasing PCB & CCA drawings.

Essential Functions:

  • Place and route components ensuring that all electrical and physical specifications meet the specific design requirements for each PCB design.
  • Ensure that all requirements for manufacturing and assembly are met.
  • Develop and generate drawings and documentation to facilitate PCB fabrication and assembly.
  • Rework PCB designs when engineering design changes occur and assist the design team with ideas to resolve issues.
  • Perform drawing and documentation updates per the instructions of engineering change requests.
  • Create component ECAD library footprints and/or schematic symbols as required for design projects

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience, graduate Degree and a minimum 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience  

 

   Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Multiple years of experience in PCB design or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience in PCB design
  • An associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and/or an IPC CID certification is desired. A bachelor's and/or master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is also beneficial.

  • Competent skills and experience with ECAD software applications and related equipment. 

  • Specific experience with Siemens (formerly Mentor Graphics) Xpedition software is desired.

  • Competent experience and knowledge of PCB design technologies, PCB layout techniques, electrical schematics, PCB fabrication and assembly drawings is desired.

  • Practical knowledge of industry standards, such as IPC for design (including design for manufacturability) and ASME/ANSI for documentation, is desired. Specific relevant IPC standards include IPC-2221, IPC-2222, IPC-6012, IPC-A-600, and IPC-A-610.

  • IT experience to help with backend management and maintenance of ECAD tools such as Siemens Xpedition and EDM.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C. area, Denver, or NYC areas is $91,500-$170,500. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, Vermont and Virginia is $79,500-$147,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
