JOB BRIEF
The Benefits Data Analyst will be responsible for analyzing, coordinating, and optimizing the administration of employee benefits programs. This position involves evaluating benefits data, managing the benefits reconciliation process, conducting carrier billing audits, resolving technical issues in deduction management, preparing reports, and assisting with enhancements to internal benefits operations.
This position will play a key role within our Insurance Services team, focused on ensuring benefits data accuracy, monitoring the benefits deduction management process, resolving technical billing and data issues, and carrier billing reconciliation to minimize financial risk, and providing technical and operational support for state-mandated 401(k) programs, paid family leave, and disability benefit compliance.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU
  • Ensure data accuracy across GreenSlate's payroll system and benefits administration partners, carriers, brokers, and state-mandated benefits programs
  • Manage billing reconciliation to ensure GreenSlate is fully reimbursed for liabilities
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve benefits-related data issues
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor benefits data metrics and trends
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy of the benefits deduction management process
  • Contribute to enhancements in technical strategies and solution recommendations to improve benefits-related data processes
  • Create and manage the benefits deduction management calendar
  • Conduct regular audits of benefits data to identify potential errors, inconsistencies, and opportunities for process improvement
  • Support annual open enrollment through data validation, system configuration testing, and post-enrollment reconciliation
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits related to benefits data compliance and financial controls
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all key benefits, data management, and reconciliation processes
  • Stay current with relevant federal and state regulations (e.g., ACA, HIPAA, COBRA) that impact benefits data management and reporting
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of new benefits administration technology or integration partners
  • Support communication and data management requirements for state-mandated 401(k) retirement programs, Paid Family Leave (PFL), and disability benefits to help ensure compliance with evolving statutory employer obligations
WHO YOU ARE
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics)
  • Required Experience: 3-5 years of experience in group benefits administration, benefits data analysis, benefits reconciliation, consolidated billing, or a related role
  • Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate data processing and report generation
  • Intermediate SQL skills for data querying and manipulation
  • Familiarity with other data tools such as Microsoft SQL Server, Snowflake, or Tableau is a plus
  • Highly proficient in Excel with advanced formulas and data analysis capabilities
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to a non-technical audience

SALARY RANGE:
$65,000-$75,000
