To thrive as a Remote COBOL Engineer, you need strong proficiency in COBOL programming, a solid understanding of mainframe systems, and experience with legacy software maintenance, typically supported by a degree in computer science or related field. Familiarity with IBM mainframe environments, tools like JCL, CICS, DB2, and source code management systems is essential.
