Gunnison Copper has an immediate employment opportunity for a experienced mine Surveyor at its operations at Johnson Camp Mine, located in southeastern Arizona. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our organization and play a key role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our mining operations. Mine Surveyor Responsibilities amp; Duties
  • Conducting open pit mine surveys to gather information.
  • Use of drones to conduct surveys.
  • Developing and maintaining detailed maps of the mine to track changes and identify areas for improvement
  • Calculating volumes and tonnages of mined materials to ensure accurate reporting and inventory management
  • Implementing and maintaining survey equipment and software to ensure accurate and efficient measurements
  • Providing guidance and training to junior surveyors and support staff
  • Working closely with the mine operations and engineering teams to identify areas for improvement and ensure that surveying processes align with overall mine goals and objectives
Mine Surveyor Qualifications amp; Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Mining Engineering, or related field strongly preferred.
  • Professional certification in surveying or geomatics., strongly preferred.
  • Experience in the mining or natural resources sector.
  • Proficiency in surveying software and geospatial analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of mining regulations and safety standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in remote and challenging environments.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • possession or ability to obtain a drone pilot license.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor in an open pit mining environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of surveying equipment and software, including total stations, GPS, and mine mapping software
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
