Job description

Job Title: Lead Data Scientist (Healthcare / ML) Location: Columbia, Maryland Type: Contract To Hire Compensation: $81 per hour Contractor Work Model: Hybrid – onsite and remote

Responsibilities

  • Lead proliferation of machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions throughout the enterprise to improve business outcomes.
  • Identify and solve complex business problems using advanced numerical techniques, algorithms, and models in statistical modeling, machine learning, operations research, and data mining.
  • Communicate analytical findings effectively to product teams, leadership, and customers, while educating about artificial intelligence, machine learning, and statistical models.
  • Support data science initiatives by applying advanced analytical capabilities and leading data mining and extraction activities.
  • Synthesize analytical insights for consumption by senior management and various teams.
  • Mentor and develop junior data scientists to enhance their analytical skills and knowledge.
  • Translate business priorities into data science deliverables, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Implement best practices for ML/AI/DS, and develop scalable and robust data products and software solutions.
  • Lead interactions between analytics teams, business units, and other departments to facilitate collaboration and project success.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field; 8 years of relevant work experience. In lieu of a degree, an additional 4 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience working with provider data, including working with leadership on data issues, accuracy, and interactions with claims and claims platforms.
  • Experience with Salesforce and FACETS is required.
  • Healthcare industry experience for 2-4 years at an intermediate level.
  • Expertise in operating systems and APIs embedded in applications, with 4-6 years of experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, document objectives and procedures, and support data exploration and analysis tasks.
  • Proficiency in model evaluation, tuning, performance, operationalization, and scalability of scientific techniques.
  • Proficiency in statistical modeling applications and advanced SQL in multiple syntaxes.
