How much do remote cnc welder jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 14, 2026, the average hourly pay for remote cnc welder in the United States is $25.48, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $24.76 and $26.20 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

Do welders use CNC machines?

Remote CNC welders use CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to automate welding processes, ensuring precision and consistency. They often operate CNC welding equipment, which requires knowledge of programming and machine setup, and may work in manufacturing or fabrication environments. Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and safety protocols is also important for this role.

Do CNC machinists make a lot of money?

CNC welders, who operate computer-controlled welding equipment, typically earn competitive wages that vary by experience, location, and industry. On average, they can earn a median salary ranging from $40,000 to $60,000 annually, with experienced workers or those with specialized skills earning higher. Certifications and proficiency with CNC machinery can also influence earning potential.

Will AI replace CNC programmers?

AI technology can automate certain programming tasks for CNC welders, such as generating tool paths and optimizing machining processes. However, skilled CNC programmers are still essential for complex setups, troubleshooting, and quality control, making complete replacement unlikely in the near future.

Can you make 300k as a welder?

Remote CNC welders typically do not earn $300,000 annually; such high salaries are rare and usually require extensive experience, specialized skills, certifications, and working in high-demand industries or roles. Most welders' salaries depend on factors like location, industry, and level of expertise, with top earners reaching higher income levels through overtime, management, or specialized certifications.
