We are seeking a talented and motivated Factory Service Engineer to join our Cutting Systems team.
Position Summary
The Factory Service Engineer is a hands-on, customer-focused technical expert responsible for supporting advanced thermal cutting systems, including CNC-controlled plasma and oxy-fuel equipment. Reporting to the Service Manager, NAM, this role plays a critical part in diagnosing complex system issues, improving equipment performance, and supporting customers and distributors worldwide.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives on troubleshooting multi-disciplinary systems-combining mechanical, electrical, gas process, and CNC control technologies.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a technical expert supporting global customers and distributors by troubleshooting CNC cutting systems, plasma cutting equipment, oxy-fuel systems, and motion control platforms via phone and remote tools
  • Travel to customer sites as needed to install, commission, repair, and optimize automated cutting systems
  • Diagnose and resolve issues involving CNC software, HMIs, drives, motors, gantry systems, height control, and gas delivery systems
  • Deliver technical training programs in the field covering operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Collaborating with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to drive reliability and performance improvements
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to accuracy, consumable life, and efficiency
  • Make customer-focused service decisions to maintain strong relationships
  • Mentor and support service technicians
  • Participate in rotating after-hours support

Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Experience with industrial automation, CNC systems, or thermal cutting technologies preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, and control systems
  • Ability to read schematics and technical drawings
  • Familiarity with PLCs, drives, or HMIs is a plus
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Bilingual skills highly desirable
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Willingness to travel as needed
