Medina Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. As a mental health counselor at Medina Counseling Center, you will be part of a supportive and collaborative team that promotes professional growth and skill development. You will utilize telehealth platforms and electronic health record systems such as AVATAR, ensuring that you can provide care efficiently and effectively from the comfort of your home or preferred workspace.

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews, documenting each case from intake through the completion of treatment to ensure continuity of care.
• Evaluate clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health and develop tailored intervention and treatment plans for individuals, couples, families, and group dynamics.
• Facilitate engaging and restorative individual and group therapy sessions, addressing specific issues and promoting emotional healing.
• Regularly monitor and assess clients' progress throughout their treatment plans, providing adjustments and additional support as necessary.
• Collaborate closely with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses, to coordinate comprehensive care and develop holistic intervention strategies.
• Identify risk factors and behaviors that may hinder recovery, and implement proactive strategies to mitigate these challenges.
• Assist family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing mental and behavioral health challenges.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.
• A successful score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• A minimum of two years of experience as a mental health counselor, with proven clinical expertise in treating a variety of mental health disorders.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to facilitate patient management and documentation.
• Experience working with diverse populations, and familiarity with the underlying physical and emotional health conditions, as well as addiction disorders.
• Strong knowledge of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and regulations regarding therapeutic interventions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong emphasis on interpersonal skills and empathy.
