Job description

Position Summary: Assists in delivery of primary healthcare, patient care management, and some clerical duties (as needed) in an ambulatory environment. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Call Center Support:
  • Answering incoming calls for all providers within SCMG
  • Routing messages correctly with attention to details within messages
  • Updating & validating patient demographics & insurance

Other duties include:
  • Support multiple providers simultaneously, providing any necessary services to remain on schedule throughout the day
  • Monitor patient messages and triage patient calls
  • Notify patients of lab results and medication refills, as directed
  • Obtain prior authorizations for medications

Requirements:
  • Knowledge of medical practice to assist in patient care.
  • Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.
  • Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  • Candidate must live within 1 hour from Silver Cross Hospital main campus to ensure capability to report onsite for downtime procedure or meetings.

Education:
  • High school diploma or GED required. Graduation or completion of Certified Medical Assistant preferred, not required.
  • Experience: Patient Care Technicians and Certified Nursing Assistant experience can be considered.
  • CPR Certification.

Work Shift Details:
Days - First Shift, Possible rotation with Saturday coverage (1 every 5/6 weeks)
