POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Systems Administrator ensures the stable operation of Customer's computer software systems and network connections in support of the DoD. This role responsible for planning, installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing network software and communication links; resolving end-user software and connectivity issues; sustaining the customer's application across its Windows/.Net/ColdFusion and Linux stack and Oracle/SQL databases; and performing vulnerability management to keep mission systems secure and available. This position requires an active Secret clearance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan, develop, install, configure, maintain, support, and optimize all network software and communication links to ensure the stable operation of DoD computer software systems and network connections
  • Analyze and resolve end-user software program and connectivity issues, and provide end-user training
  • Provide recommendations on technology direction to align with the business vision
  • Provide local and remote maintenance to operational systems deployed at more than one location, including general maintenance, upgrades, and new installs of servers and applications
  • Apply advanced technical knowledge of application networking, including load balancing applications and ensuring fault tolerance
  • Support application sustainment across Windows and Linux environments — including .Net and ColdFusion user interfaces and underlying processes — by resolving incident tickets, developing triage documentation, performing change management through ServiceNow, and supporting migration of application components into DoD Enterprise systems (EBS, EA2, DLA Azure Cloud)
  • Support Oracle and Microsoft SQL database implementations in physical and cloud environments, including creating tables, views, and indexes; running Oracle AWR reports; performance tuning; and researching, documenting, and remediating STIG findings
  • Produce ad-hoc queries and business intelligence reports (Qlik or Power BI), including contract and vendor performance metrics and item/customer demand and savings reports
  • Perform vulnerability management — review Fortify and ACAS scan reports, interpret results, mitigate vulnerabilities, maintain STIGs, prepare fix plans in accordance with the Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M), and monitor software libraries for newly disclosed vulnerabilities
  • Implement and/or administer the Corporate Performance Management (CPM) platform as a systems administrator
  • Develop executive-level presentations and present to senior management
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Seven (7) years of progressive experience in Information Processing, including six (6) years specialized across numerous Information Processing disciplines involving a range of hardware/software solutions, and four (4) years of concentrated, hands-on experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and resolving issues with various software
  • Experience developing executive-level presentations and working with and presenting to senior management
  • Experience with business intelligence tools; Qlik or Power BI preferred
  • Proven experience as a systems administrator implementing and/or administering a Corporate Performance Management (CPM) platform
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer-service, and problem-solving skills
  • DoD 8570.01-M / 8140 IAT II baseline certification covering application, data, database, utility, or software-tools administration requiring privileged access (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE or another DoD-approved IAT II baseline)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate
  • Preferred: prior DoD experience and familiarity with DoD Enterprise systems (EBS, EA2, ServiceNow, DoD Azure Cloud)
