Overview
QBE, LLC is seeking a Cloud Engineer - Mid - Cloud Security Engineering to design, implement, and maintain secure cloud capabilities supporting NIH/OD-OIT.
This position is primarily remote with some TDY required.
Responsibilities
• Engineer and maintain security controls within cloud environments.
• Support implementation of secure cloud architectures and configurations.
• Apply cloud security and Zero Trust principles to technical solutions.
• Configure identity, access, logging, monitoring, encryption, and network security controls.
• Evaluate cloud resources for security weaknesses and misconfigurations.
• Support cloud vulnerability management and remediation.
• Develop and maintain secure configuration standards and technical documentation.
• Assist with automation of cloud security controls and compliance validation.
• Support integration of cloud platforms with enterprise security tools.
• Support security assessments and authorization activities for cloud systems.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Associate degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, information systems, business, communications, or a related field, or an additional two or more years of relevant experience in place of the degree requirement.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience aligned to the responsibilities of this position.
• Experience implementing security controls in cloud environments.
• Knowledge of cloud identity, networking, logging, encryption, and access-control concepts.
• Understanding of Zero Trust security principles.
• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK) certification.
• Certificate of Competence in Zero Trust (CCZT) certification.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the required federal background investigation, Public Trust determination, or security clearance associated with the position.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or multiple cloud platforms.
• Experience with infrastructure as code and security automation.
• Federal cloud security or FedRAMP experience.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working at a computer.
• Ability to communicate effectively through virtual and in-person meetings.
• Ability to perform duties in an office, remote, or hybrid environment based on program requirements.
