POSITION TITLE: Clinical Implementation Consultant I

Supervised by: Clinical Implementation Lead (Direct), Manager, Implementation Services (Indirect)

Supervises: None

FLSA Status: Full time, Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Implementation Consultant I is responsible for participating in the design of software solutions for clinical clients. Clinical data from legacy systems which can be migrated to DataArk may include but is not limited to which may be migrated to Lab, Pharmacy, Blood Bank, Surgery, Patient History, Flowsheets/assessments, and text/pdf reports. For each clinical project, the CIC I will work in concert with an internal project team, which includes a Clinical IC II or III, Project Manager, and Data Modeler. This position will require significant interaction with client project team members and third-party vendors and will require travel to client sites. This is a client facing position, which requires clinical subject matter expertise.

JOB DUTIES and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS. A qualified individual must be able to perform the essential functions of the job as listed, with or without accommodation. (An Asterisk (*) Identifies an Essential Function)

  1. Responsible for requirements gathering, workflow analysis, gap analysis, solution design, software configuration, and related documentation. *
    1. Participates in post contract discovery and scope confirmation.
      1. Reviews the pre-contract requirements and workflows documented by Client Services and gathers more information as may be needed to finalize scope for the implementation team.
      2. Demonstrates DataArk functionality, and how it might accommodate client requirements
      3. Identifies potential gaps between client requirements and current software functionality
      4. Creates possible workflows that could be utilized in lieu of development of new fields.
    2. Responsible for initial high-level validation and sign off points for chain of custody.
  2. Manages client expectations by balancing individual client needs with overall Implementation Team/company goals. *
    1. Assist CIC II and III and/or Project Manager as needed to create customized pre-kickoff and/or kickoff materials related to implementation
    2. Participates in project pre-kickoff and kick off sessions with PMO and client project team resources
    3. Participates in onsite kick off design and discovery sessions.
      1. Completes gap analysis, solution design, and related documentation
    4. Identify key project issues and risks that will have cost and/or timeline impact and escalate appropriately to MediQuant Project Manager and/or client key stakeholder to resolve
    5. Communicates as needed with the Project Manager to translate kickoff feedback into Project Plans and Milestones
    6. Partners with Client Project team to develop sample/final project scope documents for signature
    7. Participates in Pass-Off meetings between the Project Manager, Data Mapping Specialist and Data Modeler
    8. Coordinates with extractor to complete initial data mapping between legacy system and DataArk
    9. Completes assigned project tasks on time and within budgeted hours.
    10. Meet the minimum utilization requirements of the role as required - expectations are subject to change but will be communicated in writing.
  3. Establish an open, collaborative environment for the Internal Project Team(including extractors) that ensures all team members understanding the expectations/intricacies of the client and project ensuring that all team members are in the loop on any changes affecting their work.*
    1. Partners with Data Mapping Specialist and Data Modeler to resolve data load/validation issues
    2. Provides client training and related materials using a train-the-trainer approach
    3. Partners with Development to define and prioritize client enhancement requests
    4. Collaborates as needed with multiple internal/external technical teams
    5. Participates in project status meetings
    6. Participates in customer go-lives and post go-live support activities for 30 days
    7. Participates in post-go live “Lessons Learned” meetings

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree in Health-related fields including Clinical Informatics, Ancillary Health or Nursing preferred.
  • In lieu of degree, 3-5 years of experience in Healthcare Clinical Field
  • Working knowledge of clinical workflow specifically as it relates to functions performed within a traditional hospital or medical provider office
  • Experienced with the implementation and/or support of Clinical data conversions or interfaces
  • Experienced at working in concert with cross-functional project team members

Work Environment. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing some duties of this job, the employee is exposed to dust or other airborne particles. The noise level on the job site is typical of an office environment.

Physical Demands. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit for long periods of time, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work. This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are typically Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Work Authorization. In compliance with Federal employment laws, MediQuant will verify the identity and employment authorization of each person hired. MediQuant participates in the Federal E-Verify program.

Security Clearance. Must be able to pass all security clearances mandated by various government contracts as well as any client hospital/healthcare security requirements. Any employee working on government projects will be required to successfully pass a government background check and receive a Common Access Card (CAC). Additionally, the applicant must be a U.S. citizen and will be subject to a Public Trust security background investigation and must meet requirements to obtain a Department of Defense (DOD) network account.
