• Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to diagnose patients and develop individualized treatment plans that address both mental health and emotional needs.
• Utilize evidence-based practices and state-of-the-art digital tools—including the DSM-5—to anticipate patient outcomes and monitor the effectiveness of care strategies.
• Prepare and maintain all clinical documentation in compliance with organizational policies and state regulations, utilizing electronic health record systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Work in partnership with patients and their families to co-create treatment objectives tailored to their unique circumstances and cultural backgrounds.
• Facilitate referrals and serve as a bridge between patients and interdisciplinary treatment teams, ensuring seamless access to services and resources.
• Provide educational support and mentorship to interns and new clinicians, fostering an environment of continuous professional development.
• Participate in peer reviews, clinical collaborations, and team meetings to enhance service delivery and contribute to the overall improvement in patient care.

The focus of this role is on providing outpatient therapy to individuals and families grappling with the psychological and emotional impact of cancer diagnoses. Social workers in this position will apply their skills to empower patients through therapeutic interventions that promote resilience, coping, and holistic well-being. Special attention is given to cultural competence and the unique needs of diverse populations.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• A current Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in the state of Virginia.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency in using technology for telehealth services and documentation.

• Experience in hospice or palliative care settings, preferably working with cancer patients.
• Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
• Previous involvement in mentoring or supervisory roles within clinical settings.
