About The Position:

As part of a global legal team, the Legal Counsel, Employment will provide broad employment law support to Norstella, one of the world's largest pharma intelligence solutions providers. This role reports to the Deputy General Counsel and supports labor and employment matters across the U.S. and international jurisdictions, working closely with Human Resources to deliver practical, business-focused legal advice. The successful candidate will bring substantive employment law expertise, strong judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.

Key Responsibilities:

โ€ข Advise HR and internal stakeholders on labor and employment matters across the U.S. and international jurisdictions, including employment claims and grievances, wage and hour issues, leave of absence compliance, and day-to-day employment questions.

โ€ข Draft, review, and update employment-related documents, agreements, and internal policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and alignment with business objectives.

โ€ข Support the management of relationships with outside employment counsel, in and outside the U.S., to ensure the Company receives timely and cost-effective advice.

โ€ข Partner with HR and Compliance Teams to lead or support internal employment investigations.

โ€ข Collaborate with HR and Compliance on internal training initiatives and the ongoing review and update of policies and procedures.

โ€ข Provide strategic advice and support to management on employment-related issues and questions.

โ€ข Monitor changes to labor and employment laws and regulations across U.S. and international jurisdictions, and advise on their impact to the Company and its operations.

โ€ข Support the management of employment litigation matters in conjunction with external counsel where necessary.

โ€ข Participate in local and cross-regional team projects and contribute to global legal initiatives.

โ€ข Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, identifying areas for process development and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

โ€ข 4โ€“7 years of employment law experience, with some in-house experience preferred.

โ€ข J.D. required; active license in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

โ€ข Experience supporting international employment matters, particularly in the UK.

โ€ข Strong drafting, negotiation, research, and analytical skills.

โ€ข Practical, business-oriented judgment and ability to advise HR and business leaders clearly and concisely.

โ€ข Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced, global environment.

โ€ข Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to various stakeholders.

โ€ข Able to meet deadlines and comfortable with changing requirements and priorities; confidence in decision-making and managing ambiguity.

Preferred Qualifications

โ€ข Prior in-house experience at a technology, life sciences, healthcare, data, or information services company.

โ€ข Experience with HIPAA, data privacy, or healthcare-related employment matters.

โ€ข Experience supporting UK, EU, APAC, or other non-U.S. employment matters.

โ€ข Experience managing outside counsel relationships and overseeing legal spend.

โ€ข Experience supporting M&A employment due diligence and post-acquisition integration.

โ€ข Occasional travel may be required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $135,000 to $150,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
