Job description

The Opportunity

Build the Future of Aviation With Us.
You will join our Transportation Systems - Aviation team as a Senior Pavement Engineer, contributing to the planning and delivery of complex, highimpact airside infrastructure. This role can be based in most WSP offices across Canada, with a preference for Alberta.

You'll bring deep airport pavement expertise, strong client relationships, and a passion for leading teams to deliver signature aviation projects across Canada and internationally.


Your Impact

  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams across conceptual, functional, and detailed airside design phases.
  • Prepare and review technical specifications, quantities, and cost estimates that support accurate, highquality project delivery.
  • Oversee and implement quality assurance and quality control processes.
  • Engage directly with clients and project partners, ensuring responsive, collaborative communication.
  • Troubleshoot design and construction challenges and provide timely recommendations.
  • Review and assess project schedules, milestones, and critical paths to ensure alignment with delivery goals.
  • Support proposal development, budgeting, and cost estimating activities.
  • Deliver and review technical drawings, reports, and presentation materials.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to engineers and designers, modelling excellence and collaboration.
  • Contribute to all tasks necessary to ensure successful project outcomes.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Civil Engineering and registration as a Professional Engineer in a Canadian province.
  • 15+ years of engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in runway and airport pavement design, including rehabilitation and greenfield airside projects.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations, TP312, ICAO and FAA standards.

  • Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, plus strong proficiency with MS Office tools.

  • Experience with scheduling software considered an asset.

  • Knowledge of navigational aid planning and design (an asset).

  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects with adaptability, autonomy, and leadership.

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $122,900 - $162,800
MB & ON: $112,100 - $154,400
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $111,000 - $147,400
