About This Role

The Teacher Assistant is a vital support role that helps foster a nurturing environment for children and assists in educational activities. Key responsibilities include facilitating communication among staff, parents, and children, while adhering to center policies and state regulations. In addition, the Teacher Assistant contributes to the development of positive relationships among the child care community. While not required, a strong background in child development and experience in educational programs are highly valued in this role.


What You'll Do
  • Develop and implement engaging activities that align with the curriculum and encourage child participation.
  • Ensure a clean and organized classroom environment, and maintain the availability of necessary materials.
  • Communicate with parents through regular updates and progress reports, promoting a sense of connection and shared responsibility.
  • Model healthy habits and encourage children to adopt self-help skills and good hygiene practices.
  • Facilitate a smooth transition from home to child care center, setting the tone for a productive day.
  • Adhere to center policies and state regulations, upholding the highest standards of care and education.
  • Commit to ongoing professional growth and development, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance the quality of care and education.

Requirements
  • Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of professional child care experience.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification. Will train.
  • High energy.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • An understanding of child development.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
