As a Mental Health Counselor, you will:

• Conduct individual counseling sessions with clients via video chat, utilizing evidence-based practices to assist them in improving their mental health.
• Facilitate discussions where clients can express their emotions and experiences, fostering insight into their thoughts and relationships.
• Act as an advocate for your clients, helping them to define personal goals and develop actionable steps to achieve those goals.
• Evaluate mental health conditions, crafting and implementing tailored treatment plans that draw from your clinical expertise and the client's unique needs.

Your work will primarily focus on clients who have been prescreened and are stable with low acuity mental health needs. This means you will engage with individuals who are actively seeking help to manage their mental well-being but do not require intensive intervention. Our client database allows for ethical and appropriate matching, ensuring that your skills align with the needs of those seeking your guidance.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• An independent license to practice in the state of Illinois, such as LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW.
• Ability to make comprehensive clinical evaluations and to recommend appropriate treatment plans.
• Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and understanding in all client interactions.
• Proficiency in technology and computer literacy, enabling efficient management of client communications and paperwork.

While not mandatory, candidates with prior experience in telehealth counseling, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and specialties in specific therapeutic modalities or populations will be given preference. Experience in building therapeutic rapport in a virtual environment is advantageous.
