Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to explore patients' trauma histories and inform tailored treatment strategies.

  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to address clients’ needs.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions that assist patients in processing trauma and developing effective coping strategies.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to provide integrated care tailored to each patient.
  • Provide timely crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring clients feel safe and heard.
  • Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available support resources, enhancing their understanding of the healing process.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this therapist position is on adult and adolescent clients who have experienced significant trauma. Qualifications
  • A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of New Jersey.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment methodologies.
