What is remote CGI animation?

Remote CGI animation refers to the creation of computer-generated imagery (CGI) for films, video games, advertisements, or other media by artists who work from locations outside of a traditional studio environment. These animators collaborate with teams using cloud-based software, file sharing, and communication tools to design, render, and animate digital graphics and effects. Remote CGI animators often have flexible schedules and can work for companies anywhere in the world, making the field accessible to a global talent pool.

How do remote CGI animators typically collaborate with other team members across different locations?

Remote CGI animators often work closely with directors, modelers, riggers, and other animators through cloud-based project management and communication tools like Slack, ShotGrid, and Zoom.
