IFS Architect Contract REMOTE Position Description

  • Seeking an accomplished IFS Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of scalable, high-quality ERP solutions for strategic customers.
  • The IFS Architect will serve as the technical and functional authority across complex IFS implementations, translating business requirements into cohesive solution architectures aligned with IFS best practices and long-term customer value.
  • The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in IFS Cloud and earlier IFS Applications versions across Enterprise Asset Management, Finance, Maintenance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Projects, and other core enterprise modules. This individual should have a proven track record of designing complex, multi-site or multi-entity ERP solutions and governing integrations, data flows, configurations, and extension strategies while minimizing unnecessary customization.
  • This role requires a professional who is equally comfortable advising executives, facilitating solution workshops, and guiding functional consultants, developers, and data teams through hands-on delivery. The selected candidate will identify architectural risks, maintain solution documentation and standards, and ensure quality, performance, and traceability throughout each engagement.
  • Experience supporting proposals, Statements of Work, and pre-sales activities within a Professional Services or consulting environment is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end solution design for IFS implementations, including requirements gathering, solution definition, validation, and delivery support.
  • Provide architectural leadership across engagements, ensuring adherence to standards and alignment with customer objectives and agreed scope.
  • Define solution architecture covering system configuration, integrations, data flows, and extension strategies.
  • Maintain solution design documentation and architectural standards to ensure consistency and traceability.
  • Facilitate solution workshops with business and technical stakeholders to define requirements and align on process design.
  • Ensure alignment with IFS best practices and standard functionality while minimizing unnecessary customization.
  • Guide functional consultants, developers, and data teams to ensure delivery quality and architectural consistency.
  • Identify and mitigate architectural risks, including design gaps, integration dependencies, data-flow issues, and performance concerns.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor regarding solution design, system capabilities, architectural trade-offs, and long-term product roadmaps.
  • Design and govern integrations between IFS and external enterprise systems.
  • Support complex, multi-site and multi-entity ERP transformation initiatives.
  • Contribute to proposals, Statements of Work, solution estimates, and pre-sales engagements.
  • Balance strategic architecture responsibilities with hands-on involvement throughout implementation and delivery.
Required Qualifications
  • Proven ERP solution architecture experience within a Professional Services or consulting environment.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with IFS implementations.
  • Deep functional and technical expertise in IFS Cloud and earlier IFS Applications versions.

  • Experience identifying and mitigating solution-design, integration, performance, and delivery risks.
